Ski-Trail in the Tannheimer Tal

The organizers of the Ski-Trail taking place this coming weekend (24/25 January) in the Tannheimer Tal are looking forward to the event with great optimism. More than 500 entries have already been received for the various competitions, pointing to a turnout of around 1,500 skiers—a result that could be just as good as last year’s.

The Ski-Trail in the Tannheimer Tal, now being held for the 13th time, is a popular race for ambitious cross-country skiers. On both Saturday and Sunday, the Ski-Trail in the Tannheimer Tal features two courses in each of the classic and freestyle techniques. On Saturday, the classic race offers a choice of 14 or 25 kilometres. The following day, participants will tackle courses of 35 or 55 kilometres in the freestyle technique. The premier event in particular, which also includes more than 600 metres of elevation gain, is highly regarded as a sporting challenge. This is underscored by the participation of nearly all the top athletes in Germany’s amateur cross-country skiing scene.

Following last year’s very positive experience, the Ski-Trail in the Tannheimer Tal will once again feature the Mini Ski-Trail for children. Children born between 1998 and 2001 must cover two kilometres in the freestyle technique, while young people born up to 1994 will ski four kilometres, also in the freestyle technique. Late entries for all competitions are still possible on the Ski-Trail website in the Tannheimer Tal.
