Winter sports promote health and endurance

A holiday in the snow is not only fun and a welcome escape from everyday life, which can sometimes feel monotonous, for a few days or weeks; it also does wonders for improving personal fitness and strengthening the immune system. Although it has long been known that sporting activities in winter have a positive effect on the body, many people let the cold and early darkness deter them from skiing, cross-country skiing, sledding, Nordic walking or simply taking a walk in the snow. Combined with the generally rather high-calorie food enjoyed around the Christmas holidays, a lack of exercise can lead to unpleasant surprises the next time you step on the scales.

A week-long skiing holiday can already work wonders in this regard. It makes no difference which type of winter sport each person prefers. Even half an hour of exercise in the snow can be expected to have a positive effect on the immune system, helping the body fight colds and flu-like infections much more effectively. In addition to opportunities to get active, most winter sports resorts also offer their guests expert advice on this subject. The right clothing is especially important, of course: it must protect against both the cold and possible injuries, particularly when alpine skiing or snowboarding.

A winter holiday is therefore an ideal way to combine business with pleasure and return not only refreshed, but also physically ready to face the challenges of everyday life.
