Tyrol’s Brixental celebrates its winter opening

Live music, snow and plenty of fun dancing are in store for the start of the ski season in Söll. The Söll „Zwoa-Light Parallel-Race“ also gets underway on the night of December 12, 2008. That promises to be great fun in Keathang Hochsöll, too! This „Oldschool“ race, featuring the 32 fastest skiers, is being held for the first time. Former ski legends will be taking part, including ski cross racer Patrick Koller and Ingrid Salbenmoser, winner of the World Championship bronze medal.

After this nighttime spectacle, the opening party kicks off in the festival tent, with lots of great prizes. Admission is free, according to the organizers. There will also be plenty of ski tests in Hochsöll. And on Saturday evening, the atmosphere is sure to heat up, even in the freezing outdoor temperatures. The bands „Frontal“ and „Hermes House Band“ will make sure of that. Frontal was voted Germany’s best party band in 2007.

More ski tests and live music will bring the opening festivities to a close on Sunday.

If you still feel fit enough after all that partying, you can also ski down the ski area’s truly magnificent slopes. The Wilder Kaiser has 279 kilometers of superb pistes to offer. This ski paradise keeps racking up awards. It received 46 out of a possible 50 stars and ranks fourth among 4,000 ski areas worldwide!
