There are 5 indoor ski halls in Germany: alpinskicenter Bottrop, the Jever indoor ski hall in Neuss, Snow Tropolis in Senftenberg, Snow Dome in Bispingen and Snow Funpark in Wittenburg. From 2009/2010, a sixth will be added: the “ski tunnel” in Oberhof.
The indoor ski hall, about 40–97 m in size, is open year-round. The 4-person chairlift takes skiers and snowboarders up the slope. There are 7 ski lifts. The main run is up to 80 m wide. A drag lift takes winter sports enthusiasts almost all the way to the top. 2 moving carpets cover the final section to the very top.
Beginners will also find easy blue runs here, with a gradient of about 10%. Experienced skiers will surely prefer the red runs, with gradients of up to 31%.
Kids and beginners will find a beginner’s slope with a practice hill in the left-hand section of the hall. It is about 40 m wide and 90 m long. In addition, 3 moving carpets take the skiers back to the start. Little skiers can also enjoy the area between the flags and cones. “Toni’s World” also offers the little ones lots of fun on climbing frames, slides, in the large play area and on swings.
Snowboarders can look forward to the small fun park with jumps and rails on the left side of the hall. The halfpipe meets FIS specifications, measuring 4.5 m x 20 m x 130 m. It is even suitable for World Cup events.
At Snow Funpark Wittenburg, you can do more than just ski and snowboard. There is also a high ropes course, a go-kart track, 2 beach volleyball courts and an adventure playground, a mountain bike/BMX park, a large quad area and much more. Everyone is sure to find their favorite spot here.
According to the operator, parking is free. The ski shuttle bus from Hamburg is also free.
