Two Alpine World Cup championships have already been held here. Borovets is also well suited to ski jumping, biathlon, cross-country skiing and freestyle skiing. There are also two floodlit runs at the Rila Hotel.

Borovets is one of Bulgaria’s most modern ski areas. It lies at the foot of 2,925 m-high Mount Mussala, the highest peak in the Balkans.

The climatic conditions are perfect too. January temperatures are around minus 5°C. And German is spoken in many holiday resorts, so communication is no problem.

Four ski areas await ski holidaymakers in Bulgaria: Bansko, Borovets, Pamporovo and Vitosha. The 1,240 m-long „Rotata“ track was developed especially for snowboarders.

The mountain resort of Bansko lies 160 km south of the Bulgarian capital, Sofia. Bansko offers ideal conditions for a ski holiday and slopes of all difficulty levels.

Tscherni Vrah, the highest mountain in Vitosha at 2,290 m, is also a paradise for hikers.
