Four ski areas await holidaymakers, with around 200 km of pistes reaching heights of up to 2,700 m: Graukogel, Schlossalm, the Dorfgastein-Großarltal ski circuit, Sportgastein and Stubnerkogel. Snowboarders, carving skiers and alpine skiers—beginners and experts alike—will find runs to suit them here. The varied pistes are exceptionally well maintained. The ideal altitude and snowmaking facilities ensure reliable snow cover until the end of April. The ski circuit links Dorfgastein/Großarl with Schlossalm/Angertal/Stubnerkogel. Sportgastein offers high-alpine skiing.
You can also enjoy the magic of the tranquil scenery while snowshoeing. If you prefer something less strenuous, you can relax on a horse-drawn sleigh ride, or in one of the two exclusive spas. They are supplied by 17 hot thermal springs.
The Gastein Valley is also perfect for a family holiday with children. Kids are very welcome here, including in the child-friendly ski huts. The little ones are well looked after in ski lessons, and fun toboggan rides bring huge enjoyment to young and old alike.
A summer holiday in this ski paradise is a balm for the soul. The magnificent Alpine panorama and the sound of clear mountain streams soon make you forget the stresses of everyday life. Discover the beautiful countryside on foot or by bike. There are 350 km of marked hiking trails to explore, and experienced mountain guides are available.
From June until well into autumn, 55 mountain pastures in the Gastein Valley serve up regional delicacies amid fresh mountain air and breathtaking natural scenery. A summer holiday in the Gastein Valley is an experience for the whole family.
