Oberstaufen Ski Area – Unspoilt Nature on a Summer Holiday

Nature is particularly impressive during a sunset ride, beneath a sky awash with colour. The Hochgratbahn Oberstaufen Steibis invites visitors to enjoy one on 1, 8 and 29 July. The Hochgratbahn also offers a full-moon ride on 18 July. This fascinating natural spectacle is not to be missed during a summer holiday. However, the rides only take place in good weather.

Oberstaufen is one of Germany’s most popular hiking destinations. A network of over 300 km of hiking trails is clearly signposted. Short and longer walks begin here, winding through picturesque woodland and meadows. The food and drink available along the way is excellent, too. Many alpine huts, mountain lodges and inns serve regional food and drink.

You can enjoy the tranquillity of the cosy mountain setting or make the most of the wide range of leisure activities. Oberstaufen is one of Bavaria’s most active communities. There are balloon rides, cycling, golf, Nordic walking, horse riding and tennis. Or try canyoning, paragliding, rafting, surfing or sailing on nearby Lake Alpsee. Kids can also have fun on the Hündle summer toboggan run, at the petting zoo and playing mini golf. There’s certainly no chance of getting bored.
