Summer Events in the Saalbach Ski Paradise
The Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski paradise is also known for its many summer highlights. The famous Harley-Davidson gathering kicks off in Saalbach every year. You can admire lots of cool bikes and their impressive riders from May 22 to 25. For the past two years, Saalbach has also hosted the extreme mountain biking event “adidas Slopestyle”. This year it takes place from July 31 to August 3. The course is absolutely comparable to Canada’s “Whistler Slopestyle”.
Other sporting events also take place in the “Valley of Games”, Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The World Games of Mountain Biking run from September 10 to 14, 2008. Amateur mountain bikers compete for the world championship for the 10th time. The disciplines are cross-country, downhill, half marathon and marathon.
Summer Events in the Saalbach Ski Paradise

New for 2008 is the fast-paced, action-packed Freeride Eliminator. Four bikers start at the same time. Skill and speed help you take the lead by the first turn. Elbows are part of the action, too. Only the fastest and second-fastest riders make it through to the next round.
Around 1,000 bikers from 20 nations are expected to take part in the competitions. The marathon course is approximately 80 km, the half marathon approximately 42 km and the short marathon approximately 31 km.
The World Games party with a live band is set to get the popular ski resort rocking. The legendary celebration is scheduled for September 13 in the festival tent.
New highlights include Mount Kodok, the Käptn Hook adventure outdoor pool and Montelino’s Adventure Trail. There’s also Schnitza’s Play Park, a huge high ropes course and a Freeride Biker X-Line. Saalbach-Hinterglemm offers the whole family wonderful holiday experiences packed with fun.
