Summer holiday on Planai in the Ski World Cup region
The 4-Mountain Ski Circuit (up to 2,015 m) comprises Schladming’s local mountain, Planai, as well as Hauser Kaibling, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. The famous men’s Ski World Cup course of the same name is also located on Planai. It was considered the fastest downhill run in the world.

But Planai has far more to offer than ski paradises. Take the panoramic trail around the summit, for example. At an altitude of 1,900 m, a leisurely walk offers fascinating views of the Dachstein. The colours change with every season. The trail is ideal for families and suitable for pushchairs.
Those who prefer to get around at speed head for the Planai Bike Park. At 4.5 km, the mountain bike downhill course is considered the longest in Austria. With a maximum gradient of 100%, the route over berms, jumps and steeply banked turns delivers plenty of adrenaline. It’s a mountain biker’s paradise, complete with the spectacular Planai finish slope 4-cross route. The steep sections can also be bypassed.
A new highlight on Planai opens in summer 2008: the Planai Adventure Park, located at the Planai cable car’s top station. The views of the Dachstein massif are uniquely beautiful. Among the treetops are 40 fun and adventurous stations, set between 1 and 8 m above the ground. Some are dedicated to skiing champions—the winners of the Planai Nightrace.
Visitors can choose from three different courses. There is also a separate course for groups. Two 100 m-long panoramic flying foxes provide an adrenaline rush high in the air.
The whole family will find exciting and fun activities in the Adventure Park. A dedicated children’s park is available free of charge, where little ones can try their hand at climbing.
Summer on Planai begins on 30 May 2008. A summer holiday on Planai is sure to be exciting, even without skiing. For example, the Ramsau Spring Horse Festival takes place from 6 June (Friday) to 8 June (Sunday). Enjoy a weekend of concerts, dancing and musical hikes. The festivities culminate in a parade of 40 horse-drawn carriages decorated with flowers.
