The Zugspitze is considered Germany’s most popular ski resort. Next ski season, there will once again be a highlight on Germany’s highest peak: the Zugspitze Igloo Village. Set amid a stunning mountain landscape above the clouds, it offers a unique panoramic view across four countries.
The 17 spectacular igloos on the Zugspitze have become even more popular. Record overnight guest numbers between the 2007/2008 New Year period and early April 2008 are proof of this. These figures were also a record compared with those of other Swiss igloo villages. That is why a snow hotel on the Zugspitze will once again be welcoming guests next winter season.

The romantic igloo experience at the Zugspitze ski resort is extremely popular with young and old alike. An overnight stay like this is simply something special. And if around 1 m of fresh snow falls—as it did last March—the experience becomes even more spectacular. Walking to breakfast through untouched fresh snow, you feel even more connected to nature.
Other highlights include marriage proposals and weddings in the Zugspitze Chapel, naturally followed by an overnight stay in a romantic igloo. It gives a wedding a truly special setting.
There have been 2 romantic igloos so far, and their number will probably increase next winter season, as they are very popular.
A rather different—and still very enjoyable—highlight was a group outing for 60 people. They arrived with their own DJ and partied in the igloo until 3 a.m.
