Kitzsteinhorn Glacier Event: Firn and Fun
Spring in Zell-Kaprun, famous for ski holidays, is always sparkling white. But from May 1, things heat up on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. Parties are simply part of spring at the Kitzsteinhorn! Hot Latin rhythms bring glacier action from May 1 to 4. The “Firn and Fun” party offers a tempting treat for all the senses. The dazzling hip movements of fiery Brazilian dancers will get guests fired up at the Kitzsteinhorn Alpine Center. So the glacier will be hot from the very first day.

Top chef Alexander Frankhauser will provide the corresponding culinary delights. In the elegant setting of the Gletschermühle restaurant, located at an altitude of 2,450 m, exquisite food and wine will be served. The Michelin-starred chef is one of Austria’s best. On May 3, the guest star will conjure up culinary delights for diners. The Alpine panorama is also a feast for the eyes.
Free ski and snowboard equipment tests will also be offered. Leading manufacturers will present the latest models for the coming season. The long runs on Kaprun’s local mountain are perfect for test rides.
And finally, a treat for the bodies of ski holidaymakers: on May 3, masseurs will pamper visitors with shiatsu massages, available on request from May 2. The Piz Buin massage drive-in is located right on the piste.
Another highlight awaits snowboard and freeski fans. The Slopestyle “Ride’n Roll” training kicks off on May 2 at the Roxy Glacier Park. Snowboarders and freeskiers will showcase their aerial acrobatics. On May 3, bib numbers will be handed out at around 8 a.m., followed by training. Qualification runs from 10 a.m. to noon. Until around 3 p.m., there will be a riders’ meeting, followed by the best 16 in the final. Then comes the super final, followed by the awards ceremony at the Kitzsteinhorn Alpine Center. From around 8 p.m., it’s party time with live bands at the TKW Hall in Kaprun.
