Family Ski Holidays in Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein is an extremely small principality between Switzerland and Austria. The tiny country shares an almost 35 km border with the Austrian region of Vorarlberg, while its border with Switzerland is about 41 km long. It lies on the eastern bank of the Rhine at an altitude of about 400 to 2,600 m. Its capital, Vaduz, is also the seat of the Prince. At around 2,600 m, Grauspitz is considered Liechtenstein’s highest mountain.

Famous skiers also come from Liechtenstein. The siblings Hanni and Andreas Wenzel, and Marco BĂĽchel, for example. Cross-country skier Markus Hasler is another.

This small country has a great deal to offer when it comes to holidays. Its exciting range of leisure activities is excellent and includes cultural events. The beautiful landscape offers plenty of relaxation, and the choice of sports is equally varied—whether biking, skating, skiing or hiking.

A picturesque little ski resort with 5 modern ski lifts was developed in the high valley of Malbun. Its compact layout makes it perfect, especially for family ski holidays. Malbun is sheltered at an altitude of around 1,600 m. It is one of the most snow-reliable ski resorts in the Northern Alps.

A new Malbi Park, covering around 3,500 sq. m, has been built for the youngest ski bunnies. The little ones can let off steam here. The Malbi carpet also helps them take their first steps on skis. The resort’s focus on the needs of families earned it the “Families Welcome” quality seal from the Swiss Tourism Federation.

Food lovers can also enjoy Liechtenstein’s gourmet restaurants. The wine culture is excellent. This land of plenty really is a ski holiday paradise.
