A full-moon ride on the Hochgratbahn is also an unforgettable experience in nature. You can enjoy the spectacular sunset, followed by the full moon rising above the Hochgrat. For example, you can witness this fascinating spectacle on February 21, 2008.
At 1,833 m, the Hochgrat is the highest mountain in the Oberstaufen ski area. Its 5 to 6 km runs are a challenge even for experienced skiers. Ambitious ski holidaymakers enjoy skiing the northern FIS run. The Hochgrat pistes are an insider tip for snowboarders and freeriders. Less experienced skiers should cruise down the easier pistes of the Steibis Ski Arena.
With its new eight-person gondola lift and toboggan run, Steibis is considered one of Germany’s most beautiful ski areas. It is especially suitable for families and beginners. Beautiful, wide, well-maintained pistes cross alpine meadows, alongside some challenging runs. The mile-long pistes and adventure runs are ideal for expert skiers and snowboarders, too.
