The highest mountain in Graubünden, Piz Bernina (4,049 m), is in the Diavolezza ski area. The runs are mostly intermediate. The longest descent in the Engadine, spanning 10 km across the Morteratsch Glacier, is particularly impressive. Fascinating ice formations line the route, which ends on the terrace of the Morteratsch restaurant. Families and beginners will find suitable runs at the glacier chairlift.

The Lagalb ski area at the foot of the Bernina Pass is an insider tip. Well-trained snowboarders and skiers will find steep slopes and almost untouched powder. A shuttle bus connects it to Diavolezza.

The picturesque mountain village of Maloja is truly peaceful. St. Moritz is not far away, but skiers here find a different world. Families with children enjoy the easy to intermediate runs. At 3,339 m, Piz Aela is the second-highest Alpine peak in Switzerland. Snowfall transforms the ski area into a powder-snow paradise for snowboarders, too.

Jet set, international flair and exclusivity in glamorous St. Moritz—that is the other side of the Engadine. Its healing springs are legendary. The first spa opened in 1831. Health and wellness are still a major focus here. Today, St. Moritz is one of the world's most famous holiday resorts. The rich and beautiful meet at exclusive venues for après-ski. You may encounter a few celebrities here. The local mountain is Corviglia, Piz Nair. It is also home to what is probably the highest-altitude gourmet restaurant.
