Spitzingsee
Spitzingsee is a very popular destination for ski holidays. The ski area is also a hit with snowboarders. This varied region is just 70 kilometres from Munich. As Spitzingsee is easy to reach, it soon became a favourite local getaway for people from Bavaria and beyond. There’s everything here, from wide, immaculately groomed slopes to steep mogul runs. The breathtaking mountain scenery also makes a ski holiday unforgettable.

Spitzingsee offers a well-laid-out ski area to suit experts, beginners and families. Children feel at home here, too. In large ski areas, they worry about losing sight of their parents. Clearly marked meeting points in Spitzingsee also help put young children at ease.
Safety is a top priority in Spitzingsee. An initiative was launched in partnership with renowned snowboard manufacturer Burton. This season, helmets and protective gear from the R.E.D. brand are available to borrow free of charge.
There are also some cool new signs in the Burton Snowpark, a snowboard paradise. Friendly instructions explain things like landing rules and drop-ins. They’re designed to help visitors, especially newcomers to the park, understand the rules and stay safe.
As part of the ski holiday safety measures, skiers’ speeds are checked from time to time. The average speed is 40–60 kilometres per hour. A collision at that speed would be very risky without a helmet, so it’s important to assess your own ability and speed correctly.
Safety is also a priority at the Spitzingsee Snowcamp. Each ski class is limited to a maximum of 8 children. Ski goggles are worn in all weather conditions, and ski equipment is checked. The ski schools’ exciting events promise plenty of fun and entertainment, such as the Three Generations Race on the Bayernhang, or “Kids on Snow” at the Snowcamp on 24.02.2008. Beginner fun park at special prices.
