The popular Obertauern ski area in Salzburgerland has good news. The season gets off to an early start on November 16. A few ski lifts are expected to operate daily. Favorable snow conditions are making this early start possible. The ski slopes are also likely to be in excellent condition. Ski holidaymakers can expect around 80 cm of snow. Forecasts say more fresh snow is on the way soon. Snowflakes often fall in Obertauern as early as October. Wonderful powder snow often covers the area for over 7 months, right through to May.

Obertauern’s Ski Countdown is already something of a legend. This year, it runs from November 29 to December 9. „Silbermond“ will give the first live concert at the official winter opening on December 1. The German superstars’ „Symphonie“ and other hits could melt the snow. The bands „Mondscheiner“ and „nurso“ will also perform live.

A few days later, the next highlight follows on December 6. According to the organizers, Christina Stürmer and her band will bring the heat with their latest songs. Luttenberger*Klug are also expected.
