Roxy Chicken Jam
It’s finally that time again! Top female riders will compete for victory at the Roxy Chicken Jam. The biggest event of its kind is set to begin on December 14 in Zell am See-Kaprun. Only women are allowed to compete.
Roxy Chicken Jam at the Kitzsteinhorn
In 2006, the world’s best female snowboarders came to Kaprun for the event’s premiere. It was the first Roxy Chicken Jam at the Kitzsteinhorn—and the fourth in Europe. The beaming winner was 16-year-old American Jamie Anderson. Dutch rider Cheryl Maas came second. Jenny Jones from England took third place.

The previous year’s winners are expected to compete again in 2007. Can they top the sensational tricks they showed last time? The snowboarders had already enjoyed the sunny atmosphere of the ski region in 2006. The cheerful spirit of the people is infectious, too, and inspires top performances.
The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is snow-sure
The 3,000-meter-high Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is snow-sure. Its idyllic white mountain scenery provides the perfect setting for winter sports highlights during Advent. The total area of Mellow Park had also been expanded to an impressive 30,000 sq. m. Few other winter sports areas could be better suited. A top attraction for a ski holiday in Salzburg State.
Kitzsteinhorn Snow Parks
Mellow Park consists of three Kitzsteinhorn snow parks: “DC Central,” “easy,” and the 200 m-long “Roxy Glacier” Park. The new Roxy Glacier Park was created for the Roxy Chicken Jam. Its perfect glacier setting at an altitude of 2,900 m ensures ideal snow cover.
Holidaymakers have been able to try out the snow park terrain since the beginning of October. There are 23 jumps, boxes, and rails ready for new action tricks. Many will likely flock to the Roxy Chicken Jam in mid-December. The spectacular jumps will once again leave some spectators breathless with amazement.
