Bad Hindelang: Vintage Car Race
Bad Hindelang lies in a quiet side valley in the Allgäu High Alps Nature Reserve in southern Bavaria. From October 18 to 21, 2007, it invites visitors to a vintage car race. The 9th Oldtimer Memorial & Historic Rallye is calling. The Jochpass race course is one of the most fascinating and highest mountain passes in Germany. Its bends are quite something, too.
Oberallgäu Historic Rallye
On October 18, the 9th international Oberallgäu Historic Rallye gets underway, with the participating teams and drivers arriving and a drivers’ briefing at the Kurhaus. Vintage cars built up to 1979 are eligible to take part in the race. The first competitors set off on the morning of October 19. A welcome party and awards ceremony follow at the Kurhaus Bad Hindelang at 7:30 p.m. Practice and timed runs for the Oldtimer Memorial begin on October 20. Results will be posted. The timed runs begin on October 21. In the afternoon, the three best cars and three best motorcycles will be honored as winners. After the results are posted, prizes will be presented and the winners of the Oldtimer Memorial and the overall Memorial and Rallye will be honored.

Traditional Vintage Car Race
Around 150 international drivers have registered, demonstrating the importance of this traditional vintage car race. Jochpass races have been held through the wind-sheltered valley of this popular ski resort since the early 1920s. The race is now presented in a modern setting in Bad Hindelang.
Music festival “A Place Becomes Music”
The classical music festival “A Place Becomes Music” is also taking place in the ski resort of Bad Hindelang. Until October 13, renowned artists invite visitors to enjoy classical music in a special way. The aim is to bring audiences and artists closer together and make the distance between them disappear. The culinary treats served alongside the music help create this atmosphere, especially since ticket prices, including the menu, are very affordable.
