Oberstaufen Cultural Highlights and Full Moon Ride
Oberstaufen is making a name for itself not only as a winter ski destination. Traditionally, the “Kulturtupfer” festival takes place again from 23 September to 7 October, during the autumn holiday season. Jazz, cabaret and classical music provide the foundation for an exceptional artistic atmosphere in this resort beloved by ski holidaymakers. The aim is not to offer spectacular art. “Kulturtupfer” simply seeks to inspire enthusiasm for culture.
Oberstaufen Mountain Railways
Oberstaufen’s mountain railways also bring holidaymakers closer to the finer things in life. They take them to the best spots, where breathtaking panoramic views await. On Tuesdays, you can enjoy the spectacle of the setting sun until 9 p.m. The sunset ride shows it sinking over Lake Constance in the most glorious shades of red. On Sundays, you can start the morning with a fascinating sunrise ride from 6 a.m., followed by breakfast in the mountain restaurant. Don’t miss the full moon ride on Wednesday, 26 September 2007. It is a breathtaking experience, as is the sunset that precedes this natural spectacle. Few can resist the mysterious, magical allure of the full moon.

Oberstaufen Resort
Oberstaufen is well known as a ski destination for ski holidays and as a resort. It lies in the southwestern part of Bavaria, in the Oberallgäu, between the foothills of the Alps and the rolling Bavarian-Swabian countryside. Skiers can enjoy an extensive area of impeccably groomed slopes. With 100 kilometres of cross-country ski trails and more than 60 km of hiking paths, there is no chance of getting bored while exploring the beautiful scenery. Beginners and children can learn easily on the gentle hills. Experienced skiers, however, will find the Alpine foothills quite challenging. For many, that makes après-ski relaxation—or a visit to the Aquaria leisure pool—all the more welcome.
