Dance on Mount Wank on September 21 at the “Wankhaus,” a traditional mountain hut, is also attracting many visitors. Music and dancing begin at an altitude of 1,780 m at 4 p.m. The Wankbahn cable car brings guests back down at sunset. But those who prefer to enjoy themselves in the valley can also look forward to October 20 and 27. The Sonnenalm offers live music on its south-facing terrace, with breathtaking panoramic views. It all gets underway at 11 a.m.

The Wankbahn starts running as early as 8:45 a.m. The last cable car heads down to the valley at 5 p.m. That way, music lovers can enjoy the sunshine or go for a hike before the event. And the Garmisch-Partenkirchen ski resort has come up with another “moo-velous” attraction.

Culture cows of Garmisch

More than 30 “culture cows” from Garmisch-Partenkirchen are on display in the town center. The brightly colored cows will be on view until October 31. They will then be auctioned off for charity. This magnificent ski resort also offers plenty of activities and events for summer visitors at this time of year. It’s worth spending a vacation in the breathtakingly beautiful countryside around Garmisch-Partenkirchen in any season—whether cycling, Nordic walking, strolling or hiking. Or perhaps simply immersing yourself in the beautiful natural surroundings and forgetting the stresses of everyday life. It’s easy to do here, whatever the season.
