Salzburg Summer Lifts

A wonderful partnership between the holiday regions in the Salzburger Land: For summer holidays in Austria, eight mountains—from Abtenau to Zell am See—have joined forces in the “Award-Winning Salzburg Summer Lifts” partnership. Visitors to SalzburgerLand can enjoy the alpine summer in far greater comfort with the Salzburg Summer Lifts.

Award-Winning Salzburg Summer Lifts

The “Award-Winning Salzburg Summer Lift” quality seal stands for quality. To earn the title “Summer Lift,” an operator must meet a set of criteria comprising around 100 points. The mountain activities on offer provide plenty of variety for active holidaymakers. Whether it's alpine outings for families, thrills for adrenaline seekers, culinary delights for food lovers, or breathtaking views for those seeking relaxation, each of the Salzburg Summer Lifts has its own range of activities.

Healthy activities at altitude

It has long been no secret that activities at alpine altitudes have a positive effect on health: They get the cardiovascular system going, and allergy sufferers in particular can breathe more freely in the mountain air. Long walks or gentle Nordic walking give the body mountains of energy. To enjoy these activities without a care, it's worth setting out well-rested. The best way to do that is to take a Summer Lift ticket and ride up the mountain. There is a wide range of mountain activities, from the downhill scooter track on the Karkogel in Abtenau, to glacier hikes on the Kitzsteinhorn and the Leogang Bike Park.

Perfect destinations for summer in the Salzburger Land

Those who prefer a more relaxed pace can take a lift up the mountain to enjoy the many activities. The options range from the adventure trail for children and families on the Kohlmais near Saalbach-Hinterglemm, to the mountain gallery on the Schmittenhöhe and the bird of prey observatory at the Rauris Hochalm lifts. And while your eyes feast on the beauty of the mountain scenery, culinary treats—such as those served at the summit restaurant on the Stuberkogel in the Gastein Valley—will delight your taste buds.
