Spring skiing in Tyrol

Spring skiing in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena: With 147 km of downhill runs at the northernmost Alpine glacier, the Zugspitz Arena ski region is defying the poor snow conditions of the 2006/2007 season.

The resort is gearing up for “spring skiing” – from 17 March 2007 until the end of the season: the sun, firn and pistes are shining, and now it’s time to hunt for travel bargains. Discounts are available especially on ski lessons and equipment hire. With like-minded people and a ski instructor, beginners, returning skiers and perfectionists alike can make the most of every day of their holiday – including lively après-ski in mountain huts or at the indoor swimming pool.

One of the spring-skiing bargains is the “Happy Ski Card”, which gives skiers, carvers and snowboarders access to all the lifts in the Zugspitz Arena, as well as those in Seefeld, Mittenwald, Grainau and Garmisch.

The ski region pays special attention to its youngest guests: even the little snow-mice throw themselves into the fun on the slopes with full enthusiasm at the six Alpine ski schools and in the ski kindergartens in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena – under the guidance of experienced ski instructors. There’s just as much fun in the children’s club and family hotels under the March sunshine, with days filled with games, crafts, stories, puppet shows and much more. A visit to a farm, a fun horse-drawn carriage ride and plenty of time to share experiences make the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena simply superb for the whole family.

A tip for snow freaks: the NTC Funpark on Grubigstein in Lermoos. Where else can you try out every kind of fun and trend sport in a single day, including Skifox, Snowscoot, Snowbike, Snowdeck, Snowtubes, Snowcycle and Airboard?
