End the season in Zauchensee

The holiday season for skiers, snowboarders and cross-country skiers in the Alps is slowly but surely drawing to a close. However, that doesn't mean the winter sports resorts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland have nothing left to offer. A shining example is Zauchensee in the Salzburg region, a resort specialising in winter tourism. This season, skiing and cross-country skiing in Zauchensee continue well beyond Easter, so a further increase in visitors is expected in the Salzburg region shortly before the season ends.

Around Zauchensee, there are almost 100 kilometres of downhill runs catering to every level of ability. Excellent infrastructure means short distances between hotels and slopes, as well as short waits at the lifts. Zauchensee also has several events to offer in March, away from the slopes and cross-country trails, that are well known far beyond the borders of the Salzburg region. First and foremost is the “Atomic Ladies Balanze Day,” sponsored by the ski equipment manufacturer of the same name. Although it's aimed primarily at female winter sports enthusiasts, men are just as welcome.
