The well-known Italian region Alta Badia in the Dolomites, which combines several small ski resorts, including Corvara and Colfosco, intends to promote winter holidays on its slopes as "gastronomic alpine skiing".
The promotion was named the Taste of Skiing and will be held under the direct patronage of the famous chefs. In particular, the dishes will be designed specifically for Alta Badia by the British chef Howell Jones, who was highly ranked by Michelin. Tourists can get acquainted with his culinary creativity in one of the most respected clubs of the region - Club Moritzino, located at the La Villa ski resort.
One of the innovations that Alta Badia intends to present this year will be special breakfast complexes DoloMighty. DoloMighty is a special breakfast and lunch menu, which you can try in all restaurants and cafes on the slopes of the Alta Badia resort.
Ski holidays in Italy have recently started to be promoted along with gastronomy. Thus, the festival of chocolate and alpine skiing Eurochocolate Ski is held at the famous Cortina d'Ampezzo ski resort.
Alta Badia tries to keep up with popular trends. Taste of Skiing festival will include several ski chalets on the slopes. Each of these ski houses will offer its own unique dish. The cost of special dishes during the Taste of Skiing will range from 12 to 25 Euros.
Each of the dishes will get its name and will be served on a certain track. In preparation of the dishes will take part not only Italian chefs, but also culinary masters from Spain, UK, Germany and Austria. Each dish will be prepared from the South Tyrolean products.
