Bulgaria, Slovenia, Andorra are the cheapest ski resorts

Bulgaria, Slovenia, Andorra - ski resorts in these countries have the lowest prices for the 2011-2012 season. These data are presented in a report of the British companies Post Office Travel Money and Crystal Ski. At the same time, skiing in Switzerland this season has increased in price more than usual, mainly due to the strengthening of the Swiss franc to major world currencies.

The price study was conducted at 10 ski resorts: 8 European and 2 American. According to the British research, the cheapest ski area this season is Bulgaria.

Post Office Travel Money specialists found out that the average cost of a ski package, which includes ski pass, ski equipment, training, drinks and dinner for two is cheaper at the Bansko resort. There it will cost 263 pounds. The cheapest resort in the euro zone is Arinsal in Andorra, where the similar package would cost for 100 pounds more. On third place is the Bohinj resort in Slovenia.

Both leaders of the low prices, Bansko and Arinsal, reduced the cost of holiday packages by 5% compared to the last year.

At the same time, Switzerland, which is located at the other price pole, increased the prices almost everywhere. The most expensive resort in Europe, according to the British specialists, is the Swiss Adelboden, where the average cost of a ski holiday package will be 654 pounds.

Among the countries of the "big ski four" - Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland - the cheapest is the Italian ski resort of Livigno. The cost of a standard ski package in Livigno is 451 pounds.

At the same, scrupulous Britons consider the prices not only in complex, but also individually. The results were rather confusing. So, dinner in Livigno was probably the most expensive among the European resorts. The cost of the dinner for two is 61 pounds. In Switzerland the same dinner will cost 45 pounds, and in Spanish Formigal just 30 pounds.

Last year's winner of the title of the "Big Four" cheapest resort - Schladming in Austria - lost Livigno due to the growth of the prices for education. With the average price of 159 pounds for six-day training, Schladming is the most expensive training camp in the euro zone.
