Skiers eagerly await the start of the Ski amadé season
America’s “last true rocker,” Kid Rock, has been booked to perform at Schladming’s ski season opening party. His top hit “All Summer Long” is currently playing on radio stations everywhere. And, of course, he’ll be there on December 7, 2008, for the Ski Opening at Schladming’s Planai Stadium.
Flachau kicks things off

Wagrain starts on December 7
Wagrain gets underway on December 7 with a touch of mysticism. The new ski season is celebrated with the season’s Wendfeuerfest. The fire is lit at the middle station of the Flying Mozart gondola lift, ceremonially welcoming winter. (Ski holidays in Wagrain)
December 12–14 in Flachauwinkel
Get ready for adrenaline and action in Flachauwinkel from December 12 to 14. Two snowparks await jibbers, snowboarders, riders and shredders for three days packed with action.
Ski Opening at Hochkönig
Things will also heat up at Hochkönig for the Ski Opening from December 18 to 21. Three ski touring races will be held over two race days, along with a big party to open the ski season. There will, of course, be opportunities to try out the latest ski and snowboard equipment.
Ski deals for the events
There are also affordable ski holiday deals for the Ski amadé events. Ski amadé is probably the largest winter sports area in Europe. It includes 270 ski lifts and cable cars, as well as 28 ski resorts in the Austrian provinces of Salzburg and Styria. A true skiing paradise will soon be opening its slopes for winter holidays.
