Beach Volleyball in the Ski Paradise of Schladming

It’s hard to believe: Schladming will no longer be a popular destination only for skiers and mountain bikers. From August, it will also become a beach volleyball hotspot. This premiere deserves to be celebrated, of course. From August 15 to 17, the Beach Volleyball A-Cup will kick off here at the Planai Stadium.

Styria now has a fourth venue for the Beach Volleyball Cup. Schladming, in the Dachstein mountains, has plenty of experience hosting major events. The FIS Night Slalom, “The Nightrace,” with around 50,000 spectators, is already a classic. Naturally, it’s followed by a party that lasts until morning. The Players’ Party on August 15 brings you up close to the beach volleyball stars. You can party there just like the pros. The Beach Party on August 16 is sure to be just as hot.

Now the beach volleyball stars are also heading to Schladming in Styria, to the Beach Volleyball Cup in the ski holiday paradise of Schladming. Beach volleyball on sandy shores and skiing may seem worlds apart, but it’s sure to be exciting.

Soon after comes Schladming’s next sporting highlight: the Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, held on the Planai from September 12 to 14. The major finals will, of course, be run as night races. The 4X – Four Cross race starts on September 12, followed by DHI – Downhill on September 13. And XCO – Olympic Cross Country takes place on September 14. Plenty of suspense, action and, of course, more party time!
