Resort near St. Petersburg will close ski season

On April 16, 2011 all visitors of the Russian ski resort "Snezhnyi" near St. Petersburg once again expect a huge amount of positive energy and fun. At the closing ceremony of the ski season will be held popular and already traditional sporting event "Aqua Show 2011".

"Aqua Show" is held for the seventh time and every year becomes more and more popular. Huge increase in the number of competitors and spectators says about popularity of this event. Last year there were over 140 participants.

"Aqua Show" is an unusual and very funny contest, during which participants demonstrate sport skills being dressed in a variety of colorful costumes. However, contestants must not only go down the slope of the mountain using skies, snowboards or other devices, but also very skillfully jump into the water basin, which is specially constructed for the event at in the end of springboard at the foot of the slope.

Contestants will be watched closely by four members of the jury. The first criterion is the length of the slip on the water surface. There are occasions, when contestants can jump to the end of the pool and stay dry. Otherwise, the participants will make a spectacular dive. The second criterion will be style of jumping into the water in the "freestyle" category.

Skills of the participants, shown during the unusual, spectacular jumps and ridiculous dives in bright costumes make the event unique and special entertainment, giving the enthusiastic audience a lot of positive emotions and good mood.

Registration of participants will start at 12.00. The competition will take place in two stages. During the first round, which will take place from 13.00 to 15.00, the jury will select top 12 contestants. As a result of the finals (15.00 - 15.30) will be determined winners of the event. By the end of the competition will be held awarding ceremony, with special prizes for the best trick and most original costume.

"Aqua Show", which is organized at the ski resort" Snezhnyi", is very similar to the well-known and popular European competition "Jump and Freeze", held at the Austrian ski resort of Westendorf. There are no analogues of "Aqua Show" in Russia.

"Snezhnyi" is located at: Korobitsyno, Leningrad region. This is just an hour drive from St. Petersburg.
