One of the world's largest manufacturers of ski outfit and equipment, Amer Sports Corp, has announced that the 3 quarter of 2010 was exceptionally profitable for the company. Total profit for the period is amounted to 47 million euros.

Amer Sports Corp is one of the world leaders in production of equipment for skiing. The company's portfolio includes such well-known ski brands like Salomon and Atomic.

In percentage comparing with the same period of 2009 the profit increased by 64%. In 2009, the profit of Amer Sports Corp was 29 million euros.

The company's turnover for the third quarter of 2010 exceeded 467 million euros.

In the structure of the sales key position is taken by ski equipment. For the period of July-September sales of ski equipment accounted for 44% of total sales. The main market for Amer Sports Corp is Europe, Middle East and Africa, which share in total sales was 63%.

According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors Heikki Takala, whose speech is provided by The Associated Press, the company continues to demonstrate the highest level of profitability and growth.

To date, the Amer Sports Corp operates in total 6,600 employees, which is by 200 persons more than in 2009. By the end of the year the company plans to gain from the sales of sportswear and equipment about 1.7 billion euros. Headquarters of Amer Sports Corp is located in Helsinki.
