Ski resorts in Europe: the season on the brink of opening

Ski resorts in Europe: the season on the brink of opening
Swiss ski resorts: on the slopes of the Swiss Alps, skiing is possible at the three resorts

Ski resorts of France, Switzerland, Austria, continued to report on the early openings. Thanks to the snow in the highland regions of the Alps many ski resorts in Europe are planning to start the season earlier than usual. Snowfall brought to the Alpine peaks an additional 30 cm of snow.

With the opening of the ski season on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier in Kaprun this autumn Austria has the largest choice of tracks for a ski holiday. Among the other ski resorts in Austria, where skiing is possible right now, are Stubai, Sölden, Molltal, Kaunertal and Pitztal. On October 2 in Sölden will be opened an additional ski area on the Tiefenbach glacier.

After the opening of the ski season at the Tigne resort France became one of the countries, which offers early ski holidays. Although, of course, France has not so much opportunities as Austria.

In Switzerland on October 2 is scheduled opening of skiing on the Titlis glacier located above the Engelberg resort. Saas-Feh and Zermatt are already offering skating on their slopes.

Ski resorts in Italy - the famous Italian Dolomites to date offer skiing on the slopes of Val Senales and Passo stevia. Snow level after recent snow falls risen to 1m.

Some regions of Europe despite the intention to open resorts earlier than usual were forced to abandon the original plans. Thus, Ruka ski resort in Finland postponed a season opening date from October 1 to October 15, 2010.
