Ski resort of les-Deux-Alpes, which opened summer ski season in France on June 16, now is ready to offer its guests a spectacular attraction. From 2 to 4 July 2010 at Le-des-Alpes will land Japanese troops: in the ski resort of France during these days will be held the “Kumi Yama” festival.
Festival of extreme skiing "Kumi Yama" is a show in the Japanese style, where are combined traditional alpine skiing, free ride competitions and performances of contemporary stars of alternative skiing. Among the participants of the competitions are performance athletes who participated in the last Olympics in Vancouver as well as winners of stages of extreme skiing competition X Games, held in Aspen and Tine.
"Kumi Yama" will be held at the resort of les-Deux-Alpes for the third time. This season in addition to the competition of ski masters festival provides for a number of cultural events. Among them the central promises to be a contest “Photos/Graphics”, where participants will present professional photography, graffiti and paintings. The winner will receive a trip to Tokyo.
Festival is to be held at a height of 3600 meters on the slopes of one of the largest mountain glaciers in the Alps. Cost of ski pass for tracks of les-Deux-Alpes at the festival will cost 39.6 euros.
"Kumi Yama" is the second large-scale festival of the summer season, which is held in les-Deux-Alpes. Thus, from 17 to 20 June the resort hosted the international tournament in mountain bike Mondial du VTT.
Summer ski season in les-Deux-Alpes will last until August 28, 2010. During this time, the resort promises to hold several more interesting events. Among them are: mountain bike Mountain of Hell tournament (16-18 July), electronic music festival Snow Electro Fest (24-30 July) and others.
