A summer holiday in the Kaiser Mountains, a ski holiday paradise
The ski holiday season is over. But the region around the Kaiser Mountains has plenty to offer in other seasons, too. When spring transforms the alpine meadows into a sea of colour, the Tyrolean mountain summer begins. It’s well worth discovering the natural beauty at the foot of the Kaiser Mountains. Nature lovers can look forward to fascinating scenery, around 70 mountain huts and 400 km of hiking trails.

The summer season for the Söll/Hohe Salve cable car is due to start on 17 May. The cable cars at Scheffau/Brandstadl and Ellmau/Hartkaiser are scheduled to start operating on 22 May, and the one at Going/Astberg on 5 July.
You don’t have to walk far in the Kaiser Mountains to forget the stresses of everyday life. Cable cars take you up the challenging stretches of elevation. This means peak-baggers, leisurely hikers and mountain bikers can set off on tours through the stunning landscape.
More ambitious visitors can go climbing in the Kaiser Mountains massif. Challenging hikes follow the Adlerweg trail, or take you from the Hohe Salve panoramic trail to Astberg in around 8 hours. The route passes alpine meadows and mountain lakes, with the Wilder Kaiser ski holiday region’s flora and fauna still thriving in their natural state. The Hohe Salve is one of Tyrol’s most beautiful vantage points, offering panoramic views of more than 70 peaks over 3,000 metres high. Paragliders, too, love the ideal thermal conditions in this beautiful landscape.
Families also flock to the Hohe Salve for summer holidays, as well as to Scheffau’s natural paradise at Lake Hintersteiner, where there’s plenty of room for fun and games. Perhaps they’ll also hop aboard the “Magic Express” to Ellmi’s Magic World on the Hartkaiser. There, they’re welcomed into a mysterious fantasy world of fairies and goblins. The nature and adventure park has plenty of wonderful surprises in store. The new panoramic restaurant serves culinary treats and offers spectacular views of the Kaiser Mountains.
With its 27-hole golf course and 9-hole short course, the Kaiser Mountains are among the most beautiful alpine golf destinations. There’s no chance of getting bored in this ski holiday paradise. There’s simply too much to discover, even in summer.
