Dynafit’s new Dy.N.A boot, claimed to be “the lightest ski-mountaineering boot in the world” (its weight is 2lbs (920gr) for Mondo size 27.5 - Euro 42/43), recently won the long awaited ISPO Outdoor Award 2009 for the category “Footwear“. This boot is the end result of “two years of intensive product development” by Oberalp/SALEWA Group which owns Dynafit brand in general and Dynafit Head Designer Mario Sartor and his team in particular.
Benedikt Boehm, Sales and Marketing Manager at Dynafit, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to accept this prize. This boot will ring in a new era in ski mountaineering. There are three features that will raise the bar in contemporary sport: the shockingly light weight, the unbelievable flexibility, and the split-second switch from ascent to descent".
The Dy.N.A boot’s main characteristics are as follows:
Top front buckle while open allows easy entry and cuff tightness adjustment
Cordura tongue diminishing weight and keeping snow out of the liner, which is important for those clad in lycra
Patented ultralock system rear cuff buckle swings to the outside and functions at the same time as ski/walk mechanism and tightening of the carbon cuff
62° of cuff movement in walk mode is possible
Carbon cap in the front preventss the boot toe from collapsing while skiing, etc
