Saalbach, a popular ski holiday destination, is celebrating the 10th World Games of Mountain Biking. From September 11 to 14, the “Mountain Hero” (mountain bike world champion) will be crowned in 4 disciplines. A new combined ranking based on the “Mountain Attack” and “World Games” will determine the “Mountain Hero” world champion. Mountain biking fans should not miss this highlight.
Participants should register by August 17, 2008. According to the organizers, those who do will be guaranteed a race number printed with their name.

Four amateur bikers set off at the same time in the “Freeride Eliminator.” Speed and skill, along with a bit of elbow tactics, are definitely called for!
The Freeride Eliminator program begins on Thursday, September 11, with training from 2 to 5 p.m. On September 12, there is another Freeride Eliminator training session from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Freeride Eliminator qualifying round follows from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The final starts on Saturday, September 13, at around 3:30 p.m. The awards ceremony follows at 8 p.m.
The freeride and downhill trails lead to the Reiterkogelbahn. From here, a gondola takes freeriders to the start in just a few minutes.
