Eight more runs will be opened this weekend, on December 6, at Marmot Basin ski area situated near Jasper in the province of Alberta, Canada. The runs scheduled for opening – namely “Highway 16”, “Showoff”, “Milk Run”, “Elevator Chutes”, “Paradise”, “Punchbowl”, “Showoff Cat Track” and “Chalet Express” - are located in the “Upper Area” of the ski resort. With all above-mentioned runs launched the number of runs open will total 21.
The runs settled in the “Upper Area” are of rather high complexity level. Brian Rode, Marmot Basin’s marketing vice president, commented: “The Kiefer T-Bar and the runs in the upper mountain are for advanced and expert skiers only. Novice and intermediate skiers have 13 high quality runs in the lower mountain to choose from and should not attempt to ride the Kiefer T-Bar this weekend as all runs off the lift are rated as black diamond”.
The mid-mountain Paradise Chalet café having a cafe and lounge will also start functioning this weekend to provide winter sports amateurs with food and drinks after skiing. Its Charlie’s Lounge where you can have a lunch and the self-service cafeteria providing sandwiches, salads and hot dishes were substantially renovated during the summertime and got a lot of various enhancements.
