As we wrote a week ago two famous US ski resorts Loveland and Arapahoe Basin located in Colorado were caught into snowmaking rush in order to become the first resort on the North American continent opened for the coming season. Their snow guns have been blasting at full force since then and now we can conclude that the race is ended in a draw.
Representatives of both Loveland and Arapahoe Basin announced in the beginning of this week that the ski areas would be opened on the 15th of October. In order to avoid possible misunderstanding the resorts management came to agreement to open both simultaneously – at 8:30 a.m. Thus, Loveland and Arapahoe Basin share the title of the US winner.
For the last ten days temperatures in Colorado were rather low and made possible to create decent snow layer. So the new ski season in Colorado may be as successful as the previous one. So we wish both winners good luck and plenty of snow.
