Second Tour de Tirol
The second Tour de Tirol is ready to get underway. Following the success of the first tour in 2006, it returns from October 12 to 14, 2007. The stages pass through places in Tyrol familiar to ski holidaymakers.

The Tour de Tirol is pulling out all the stops: 612 international runners competed for victory in 2006. In 2007, there will be many more—perhaps even twice as many. Well-known athletes are taking part, including Austria’s top mountain runner, Markus Kröll, who will compete in all three races. Eva Dolling, Austria’s triathlon hopeful, will be at the start in the Alpbachtal. Patrizia Rausch, the women’s overall winner in 2006, will also defend her title.

Tour de Tirol Schedule
The event kicks off on Friday, October 12. The Alpbachtal 10 km evening run covers four 2.5 km laps through Reith, one of the most beautiful flower villages. The award ceremony follows at 7:30 p.m., followed by a party in the flower village of Reith.
On Saturday, October 13, the Kaisermarathon will follow a new course. The opening stage starts in the center of Söll and runs through the Wilder Kaiser ski area via Scheffau to Ellmau. From there, it climbs steeply towards Hartkaser. Magnificent alpine pasture trails lead back via the Brixental and Söll, then continue via Hexenwasser to the summit of Hohe Salve. The Kaisermarathon is no place for weak legs or nerves.
The Nordic walking tour from Söll follows a route parallel to the Kaisermarathon course to Hexenwasser. Here, however, the emphasis is on having fun. There are no individual rankings—the strongest group wins. The Kaisermarathon award ceremony begins at 7 p.m., followed by celebrations. Söll invites everyone to the Tour de Tirol party with live music.
On Sunday, October 14, the half-marathon starts with four laps around Lake Walchsee. The award ceremony and Tour de Tirol overall awards ceremony follow at 4 p.m. Then it’s time to party again at the closing celebration in Walchsee.
