Ski and Snowboard Paradise Arosa
At around 1,800 m above sea level, the elegant spa resort of Arosa is a sun-drenched ski area. On average, you can expect 8 to 12 hours of sunshine a day. With fantastic snow conditions, skiing in the Arosa ski area is especially enjoyable—particularly against the breathtaking mountain backdrop, with views of the four-thousand-metre peaks of the Bernese Alps.
Arosa is in the Schanfigg Valley
Arosa is in the Schanfigg Valley, southeast of Chur. Two-thousand-metre peaks with intriguing names ending in “horn” surround the Arosa ski resort. To the west lies the 2,653 m-high Weisshorn. At 2,980 m, the Rothorn is Arosa’s highest peak. The Erzhorn stands 2,924 m high. The Parpaner Rothorn, Älpliseehorn, Furggahorn and Velbellahorn are also among Arosa’s two-thousanders. There are many ski runs, especially around the Hörnli.

Over 100 kilometres of slopes and short waits at the lifts
Long waits at the ski lifts are unlikely. The roughly 100 kilometres of slopes include about 60 km of groomed runs, mostly easy to intermediate. The Tschuggen slopes are particularly suitable for beginners. Another 40 km of runs offer ideal terrain for freeriders. Snowboarders are drawn to the sunny, wide-open runs and the fun park by the mid-station. The practice halfpipe on Tschuggen, built by Olympic champion Gin Simmen, attracts freestyle snowboarders. The BrĂĽggerhorn and the steep slope by the CarmennahĂĽtte give experienced skiers an adrenaline rush in the powder.
Arosa ski area is family-friendly
The Arosa ski area is very family-friendly. The resort has a peaceful atmosphere, and holidaymakers can enjoy the tranquil winter scenery. Wide, easy-to-navigate runs await the little ski bunnies at the Mickey Mouse Alpine Club. The children learn to ski through play at Donald’s ski school—and to snowboard on Goofy’s halfpipe. The 600 m-long Tschuggen toboggan run is a firm favourite with the kids. Many other exciting activities are also available.
Arosa also has a good après-ski scene. Rustic mountain huts, bars, discos, restaurants and nightclubs welcome visitors. Some night owls party until morning.
