Nanshan Ski Resort in China opens winter season

The Nanshan Ski Resort in China is entering its 8th winter season this year, which was officially opened last weekend. Four of China’s best-known actors, Liang Jing, Wang Yi, Jing Gangshan and Gao Qi, attended the ceremony and provided the necessary publicity. Nanshan Ski Resort is located close to the Chinese capital, Beijing, and is one of the best ski areas in the Middle Kingdom. Dr. Lu Jian, director of Nanshan Ski Resort, delivered the opening speech and then opened the slopes to the many winter sports tourists who had gathered there.

This year, Nanshan Ski Resort in China is equipped with FS Twintip, Tele Mark and AT, and in addition to its traditional ski parties, it also has some sporting highlights to offer. For example, on the second weekend in January (10/11 Jan. 2009), the world’s top snowboarders will gather at Nanshan Ski Resort, northeast of Beijing, for the Nanshan Open. The Nanshan Open is by far the most important snowboarding event in the Far East and is also highly regarded internationally.

Nanshan Ski Resort is an hour’s drive northeast of Beijing. Alongside numerous downhill runs, snowboarders have a course almost 100 meters long at their disposal, and 12 chairlifts provide convenient transport for skiers.
