Saas-Fee offers ski holidays with 300 days of sunshine
The Swiss ski holiday paradise of Saas-Fee offers guaranteed snow. The modern ski area lies at an altitude of 1,800 to 3,500 m, so snow is assured. It is located in the Saas Valley, beside Switzerland’s highest peak, the Dom. The Italian border is not far away. As a result, the climate is mild despite the high-alpine setting. That is certainly also because Saas-Fee is a car-free zone. Visitors must leave their vehicles in the car park. Then it is a 10-minute walk to the valley station, followed by a ride on the Alpin Express to the final ski holiday destination. But this small effort is well worth it for a ski holiday free of exhaust fumes and cars. Taking an electric taxi to the valley station makes things even easier.
Thirteen peaks over 4,000 metres high offer an impressive panorama around Saas-Fee. The highest Alpine summits are right here. That means crystal-clear mountain air is guaranteed during your ski holiday.
A wide range of activities is also on offer for summer holidays: aerobics, mini golf, mountain biking, pétanque, horse trekking, riding, children's mountaineering, summer skiing, sunrise trips and scooter fun, among many others. Holidaymakers can also enjoy around 350 km of hiking trails with views of the magnificent mountains.
In summer, 15 kilometres of ski runs are available to skiers. During the winter season, Saas-Fee offers skiers and snowboarders 100 km of pistes. There are suitable runs for all ability levels.
Saas-Fee is currently attracting visitors with several events, such as the Saas-Fee Challenge on 12–13 September 2008. This challenge combines inline skating and ski slalom.
On 22 September, culinary delights will be served as part of the first Gourmet Trail.
