Though many ski resorts in Europe opened their slopes some weeks earlier than it was planned due to early snowfalls, the previous year still leaves its sign on them now. This year many ski resorts offer discounts for their early visitors.
Discounts took places in many countries, but the largest discounts were noticed in Italy where the prices went down by 16 per cent. In Bulgaria they went down by 13 per cent. In France and Austria the fall of the prices was not so high though the prices were 3% lower than usual.
However in Canada, for instance, the situation was quite different. As the 2006 – 2007 season was not so good because of little snow, so many skiers wanted to go skiing and snowboarding and have snow on the slopes for sure, especially on the lower altitudes. So, the prices in Canada skyrocketed by even 99 per cent last year.
However, discounts is a very good marketing move as many resorts tend to attract as more skiers as possible after the previous problematic year.
