New Ways to Zermatt

Good news for skiers and snowboarders who plan to have their skiing vacation in Zermatt. Since December many skiers will be delivered to Zermatt from Zurich by train. You shouldn’t go to Geneva specially any more in order to reach Zermatt or Saas Fee.

The new tunnel, Lotschberg Base Tunnel, is considered to be one of the largest European tunnels. It is planned to start it December, 9 just for new ski and snowboard season of 2007 – 2008. This tunnel will deliver skiers from Zurich airport to Zermatt in 3 ½ hours.

It is very comfortable for many skiers as there are several trains from Zurich, and the last one leaves the station at about 8 p.m.

More over, if you want to spend your vacation in Zermatt or in Saas Fee, you can book a package tour to there. A seven night stay at a three star hotel will cost you from £525 per person. It is half board accommodation. The calculation was made on the basis of scheduled flights from London and 2nd class rail transfers. If you are going to stay at a 5 star hotel, then the room for you will be available at a price from £1020 per person.
