Rihanna in Ischgl

This year the prominent ski resort of of Ischgl, Tirol, Austria is going to open its new skiing and snowboard season December, 1. The new skiing season will last for the next 5 months. The lifts are going to be open November, 30 and they will be closed only May, 8.

Every year the administration of the resort tries to invite only prominent and popular singers to open the season. The new 2007 – 2008 ski and snowboard season in Ischgl Rihanna will open. Andres Steibe, the tourist director, says that they are excited and proud that this young lady will open the new season in Ischgl.

This summer Rihanna has become very popular all over the world for her song “Umbrella” and other hits like “Shut Up and Drive”. Her song and video “Umbrella” have won all the MTV awards for being the best ones.

December, 1 Rihanna will perform on the local stage in the evening. The concert will be free of charge so everyone who wishes, will be able to go on it.

One more good news of the resort is that now it is equipped with the new lift that now offers heated seats for skiers. It is expected that now 2,800 skiers and snowboarders per hour will be delivered from the village up to the main skiing area of Idalp.
