Winter Wonderland Switzerland
For skiers, snowboarders and freeriders, Central Switzerland is a winter wonderland. The Andermatt and Sedrun ski areas are connected by the famous Veltiner Tor. The entire Oberalp Pass, Sedrun and Urseren Valley ski region offers around 120 km of groomed pistes: approximately 30 km of black runs, 60 km of red runs and almost 30 km of blue runs. The appealing pistes range from around 1,400 m to 3,000 m in altitude. You can also discover the magic of snow-covered forests and meadows on 86 winter hiking trails.
Snowboarders and freeriders will find their winter wonderland in Sedrun and Andermatt. Sedrun has a halfpipe, while Gemsstock has a fun park. The Gemsstock ski area is near Andermatt in the canton of Uri, at the Oberalp Pass. It offers breathtaking panoramic views of more than 600 peaks.

The Melchsee-Frutt ski area also draws freestylers to its fun park. This winter wonderland is car-free and family-friendly. The stunning landscape offers 32 km of impeccably groomed pistes and 15 km of cross-country ski trails.
The picturesque mountain village of Stoos is also car-free and family-friendly. It is a spa and recreation resort, just around 30 minutes from Lucerne and about 60 minutes from Zurich. It lies at an altitude of around 1,300 m above Lake Lucerne. Thanks to its affordable offers, Stoos is especially suitable for family holidays.
