British ski traveling continues to grow

According to Crystal Ski Industry report the number of skiers from Britain to foreign ski resorts in 2006 - 2007 grew by 3 per cent to all sectors. Even difficult snow conditions couldn't stop British skiers from skiing in Europe. As the report states it is the sixth subsequent year of growth when the total number of skiers from Britain reached 1.19 million people.

As the statistics states, the most favorite place to go skiing by Britons is France. Here comes 37.1 per cent of all British skiers. The most popular holidays here among the British skiers are chalet and club hotel holiday. Austria’s position went down by one percent in comparison with the previous years. Switzerland is still on the same level because of its high-altitude level resorts.

According to the statistics the British prefer to buy their through tour operators than independently. And though the tour operator sector rose by 1.8 per cent, the market of 6 top tour operators went down by three points to 74 per cent.

But not everything is so good as it may seem. There certain difficulties that tour operators face nowadays. It is high costs on fuel and the possible impact of the airport security concern. But there are also advantages, such as a strong British pound, an early Easter of 2008 and solid start to the season’s sales.
