Russian airline VIM-Avia has announced the opening this ski season a new flight, which will make the ski resorts of Switzerland and Europe closer to the tourists from Russia.
The new route will link Moscow and the Swiss city of Basel. The first regular flight Moscow-Basel will be made on January 2, 2011. Subsequently, the flights from Domodedovo will be made every Saturday. This schedule will operate until April 3, 2011.
VIM-Avia will become the first airline in Russia, which will offer regular flights to Basel. It is worth noting that for ski holidays Basel is one of the priorities for arrival. Thanks to the newly built vehicle tunnel leading to the ski resorts of Switzerland it will take much less time to get to the resorts than from the airports of Zurich or Geneva.
The first flights to Basel will be sent from Moscow at 6 am. The flight on January 9 will depart at 14.00. Starting from January 15, 2010 flights will departure from Moscow to Basel from Domodedovo airport at 10 am. Departure from Basel - 14:00 (January 2), 18.00 (January 9), 14.00 (starting from January 15).
On the official website of the VIM-Avia is noted that the minimum cost of the return ticket Moscow-Basel will be 300 euros. This price is valid for booking tickets through the official site of VIM-Avia www.vim-avia.com.
In addition to the ski resorts of Switzerland in the nearest future VIM-Avia will launch flights to the ski resorts in Italy. It is expected to open two new routes - Moscow-Verona and Moscow-Turin.
This season many airlines operating in Russia offer special packages for skiers. So, from September 10, it will sale tickets for regular flight Moscow-Innsbruck by Austrian Airlines.
This year Russian tour agencies expect growth in demand for ski resorts. One of the leading providers of travel to the ski packages, Jet Travel, plans this season an increase in demand by 30%.
