Doctors recommend drinking plenty of water and and avoidindg too much salt intake while enjoying ski holidays. During holidays with group of friends at ski resorts people tend to consume more alcoholic beverages. It may cause dehydration or, in other words, loss of water in organism.
Betony Garner of the Ski Club of Great Britain said in an interview with the BBC that “altitude can affect people more when it comes to drinking alcohol, so those drinking on the slopes could get drunk more quickly”.
Sun at high altitudes quickly absorbs the moisture of the skin, which also contributes to dehydration. So you should try to avoid the direct sunlight and always use sun block creams and wide brimmed hats there. You should also wear light-weight cotton clothing, this way you will sweat less and loss less water. And naturally if you work hard then drink more water.
So the best prescription for skiers is to stick to just one shot if you have a party with friends and drink more mineral or fresh water to help your body resist dehydration.
