Zermatt New Lifts

In 2007 – 2008 ski season in Zermatt there will be 2 more new lifts and one more new run. The new run will connect 2 areas than were not joined before. It will connect Hohtalli and Gornergrat areas. Hopefully, this link is going to be in a great use because it was built with the only aim – to make both areas more accessible and shorten the time of the transfer.

It is not all the news. There will be two more new lifts in Zermatt. One lift will be a completely new thing for Zermatt as it will take skiers to the top of the down hill run even in cases when the Hohtalli will be closed because of bad weather. The other lift will be installed in Sunnegga instead of the old double chair lift which connected Findeln and Breitboden.

And one more news from Zermatt is that they will use additional snowmaking the next season. It is planned to cover 60 per cent of the mountain with the help of a snowmaking machine.
