Ice Fishing
Ice fishing is becoming more and more popular within each day. When ice fishing, the angler goes on a frozen lake, river or the sea and makes a hole in the ice with a special drill and then fishes with a special and very short angel right in winter. The bait is usually a small gamer or a natural bait and, of course, it can be only vertical.
In some countries around the world the ice fishing is a real cult. In the United States or even in Canada and Alaska it is a usual thing to take even a house on the ice. It is really very comfortable to take the house with you because you shouldn’t stay outside in the cold and then you can put a stove there.
These small portable house are mounted on a sledge and they are not larger than four five square meters.
Ice fishing was originally invented due to very practical reasons – to purchase food in winter. It is rather difficult to find out where exactly ice fishing was invented but it is a fact that in the countries of Scandinavia and in the Inuit it has been cultivated for centuries.
In some regions, especially in the United States the ice fishing competitions are a great event that is help every year. It is the national sport in the USA. Hundreds of fishers meet at these competitions trying to find out who will get the thickest fish from the icy water.
The fishing line used for ice fishing is always suture but there is only one synthetic strand. If the braided fishing line penetrated into the water, then it could simply freeze and possibly even break.
