Ski resorts in Spain are some time combination of sea and snow. There are many countries that offer a great time at the seaside during summer holidays, but imagine a ski resort as well as a sea resort in one country at the same time! One of such countries is Spain. Spain, with its beautiful beaches, romantic coasts, impressive cities like Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Madrid and others is a great place for skiing too. Theoretically and practically, one can enjoy a summer holiday on a beach having a possibility to ski as well. Everybody will agree that it’s an interesting combination.

The most popular ski resorts in Spain are Sierra Nevada, Area Cantabrica, Andorra, Pirineo Aragones, Pirinea Catalan, Sistema Penibetico, Sistema Central and Sistema Iberico. In Spain you will find a variant of accommodation best suited for you needs and wishes – a cottage or a ski hut, a hotel room or a pension.

In the Sierra Nevada – which is very conveniently situated in only 1-2 hours drive from the Mediterranean Sea there are 59 slopes equipped with 20 lifts of various types and having total length of about 70 km.

Spain provides various opportunities for skiing. For example, in Andorra, there is Arinsal with 21 runs having about 30 km of slopes of different degrees of complexity and 14 lifts; Grau Roig-Ras has 31 lifts, 56 slopes having total length of about 100 km.

The most popular ski resort in Spain is Pirineo Catalan with places like Vall de Nuria that has approximately 7 km of downhill, 10 slopes and 4 lifts; Rassos de Pegueira with 10 downhill slopes having total length of about 8 km and equipped with 6 lifts; Baqueira-Beret - the largest ski resort in the Catalan Pirineo - has nearly 90 km of slopes of different complexity levels with 54 slopes and 28 lifts.

In the Pirineo Aragones is located the best known and most popular destination for a ski vacation - Panticosa – that can offer 38 slopes which have about 34 km of length. The ski resorts is equipped with 14 lifts. Good restaurants, bars and nightclubs are found everywhere in the ski areas of the mountains. And in addition to downhill slopes there are also well-groomed trails for cross-country skiers as well going through many kilometers of beautiful landscapes.

Lifts in Courchevel will be adapted for the children
The famous ski resort of Courchevel in France has decided to care not only about the oligarchs, but also the younger generation. Before the winter 2012-2013 season administration of the resort decided to upgrade all 18 chairlifts lifts to make them more comfortable for the children.
