Valle di Susa
Val di Susa stretches out over 70 km long and has an altitude drop of 3,000 m. It encompasses the resorts of Bardonecchia, Sauze d'Oulx and Sestriere. Bardonecchia is especially well-known as the venue for the Turin winter Olympic games in 2006, as it was here where all of the snowboarding competitions took place: parallel slalom, boardercross and half-pipe. Skiers will also get their money's worth here, too. The ski area is made up of two sections with a total of 100 km of piste and 21 lift systems. The groomed pistes are snow-sure, thanks to modern snow-making systems as well as its altitude. In addition to this, you have the possibility to access the diverse ski region of Via Lattea, in the resort of Sauze d'Oulx, which is situated approx. 18 km away. The lift pass "Via Lattea" gives you access to approx. 400 km of piste! Winter sports fans will definitely benefit from the the infrastructure improvements made for the Winter Games in 2006.
